Charleston Prints

I finally had my prints that I purchased from Charleston matted and framed. They look beautiful! It is great to finally have my things hanging in the townhouse, it is really starting to look like my own place.

Out to dinner in Wilmingon

We went out to dinner tonight at the Front Street Brewery, a nice little restaurant in Historic Downtown Wilmington. Very yummy food, and downtown Wilmington is always so pretty.

Rainy Day

We only spent a short time on the beach today because there was a storm rolling in. Mom and I did take the morning to enjoy the beach before the rain hit around lunchtime. After lunch, we went to do some light shopping, bought groceries for dinner, and rented two movies. It was a nice, relaxing day!

Another Day at the Beach

Mom and I took a nice, long walk on the beach while Mike took his boogie board to ride the waves. Unfortunately, I got sunscreen in my eyes and they were stinging too much for me to go into the water today. I'm sure I'll take my trip on the boogie board one of these days before we leave. Oh, you may want to know what the "children" are doing while were away. The two of them keep themselves occupied by playing while we're gone. They do love to hide under the table before we leave to ensure that we don't separate them.

Jumping the waves

The water was calmer today, so mom and I joined Mike out in the water. We had so much fun, and even mom had a blast. Of course, Mike was holding her up so that she did not get as wet, meaning that he got drenched. It was a lot of fun!

Playing in the Water

We went out or a long walk on the beach today. The water was so warm, but the waves were fierce (as mom put it). Mike went out deeper and played in the water more, but I just went a small distance in today. I am sure that we will go out many more times before the week is over.

Heading to Wrightsville Beach

We decided to only take one car down to the beach this trip, however, it was packed very tightly. We had luggage for a week for 3 people and groceries! Needless to say, I had only a little leg room. Toby was very excited to be going on a trip too.

Moving with Penske

I have used Penske trucks for all of my long distance moves, and this time was no exception! They offer a AAA and an online discount, so the price is great. They have great customer service and upon my last review of movers had a lower risk of the vehicle breaking down. When we arrived at the PODS warehouse, my PODS container was already outside waiting for me. I looked for my container number, and my container had my name on the handle with my lock in place. We unloaded the POD onto the Penske truck, then drove from Fayetteville back to my townhouse. Here is Mike and Josh helping to unload the truck into the townhouse.

Now, time for unpacking these boxes and doing lots of laundry and washing dishes!

Unloading my POD

I am finally getting all of my things from storage in Fayetteville. Here is POD world, those forklift drivers whip around like a small car. It was definitely an experience seeing everything that has been in storage for 2 years. Thankfully, I don't have to keep paying "rent" on my POD any longer!

Canna

I planted these Cannas in the Spring, and I wasn't sure how they would do. I have 4 in total, and this peach one is the first one to bloom. There is another color, but I am not sure when it will bloom. I will be sure to post pictures once the others bloom.

Balloon Flower

Here is a picture of my Balloon Flower that I purchased at Home Depot about a month ago. It initially had blooms on it, but then, it was just greenery. Now, it has bloomed again with many pretty flowers!

Sprite Melons

A friend at work bought a Sprite Melon a couple of weeks ago at work, and I took a couple of the seeds to plant. A sprite melon is a cross of a Honeydew, so I am not sure if the seeds will come up as Honeydew or Sprite Melons, but I am excited to find out. Look how big they have gotten so far?

Rose of Sharon

I have to admit, that this is not my plant, but my mom's. This is a Rose of Sharon bush that was rooted from my grandfather's plant. Each year, the bush gets larger and larger, and this year it is covered with blooms. FYI, this bloom looks different from the traditional blooms, as it is a double bloom. So pretty!
