Christmas Video

Here is a little short video of my twin nephews opening one of their Christmas presents from mom and Mike. They were so cute trying to open presents and sticking the paper in their mouths!

Merry Christmas to Toby

Toby just got a gift of an embroidered snuggie from my best friend Kelley's dog Lily. He seems to love it and won't let me take it off of him!

Toby's Hiding Spot

Toby loves to go around and try to find a perfect hiding spot for his treats. The funny thing is, he will hide it, then in 5-30 seconds, go back and get the treat, and hide it somewhere different. This trend continues for a while until he decides to finally eat his treat. Several nights ago, I noticed that he was using the Christmas tree as one of this hiding spots, but I didn't have a camera to get a picture. The other night, I finally had my camera handy and was able to get these shots. He is too funny, he was trying to push the skirt with his nose to hide the treat, such a funny pup!

Snowy Townhouse

Here is my townhouse with the remaining snow from Friday. I love the view from the back. It has been great living somewhere with a garage, and very helpful. It is so nice not having to worry about letting my car defrost on the way to work in the morning. Toby definitely loves the new place and enjoys the quiet of not living in an apartment or a hotel.

Toby in the Snow

Here are some of the pictures I took of Toby playing in the snow yesterday. After sitting all night and with the last bit of freezing rain we got, the snow was a bit crunchy on top. This meant that poor Macy's feet went down in the snow as she walked, but Toby was light enough that he was able to run on top of it! It was too cute watching him run around and enjoy himself!

Winter Wonderland

I built two small snowmen today, aren't they cute? Okay, so I don't have the true patience to build a large snowman, but the little ones are very cute :)

Let it snow

It started snowing yesterday around lunchtime. We had around 4 inches of snow all together. It is beautiful seeing everything covered in snow.

Toby's Grand Adventure

Toby is so excited to be moved into the townhouse! He goes exploring all around the townhouse daily and loves having his own space. I think he also loves the fact that we are so close to mom's house, because he can see her more often. Here he is exploring in the front bedroom.

Christmas Cards!

Here is my fireplace and mantle are covered with the Christmas cards that I have received so far. Such a fun time of the year! Also, I have a stocking hung for myself and Toby; Toby says he's been a good pup and that he really hopes that Santa brings him something good.

Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular!

My brother and I surprised our mother with tickets to see the Rockettes on tour tonight in Winston-Salem. It was an amazing show, and they are amazing performers and dancers. The toy soldier routine is simply amazing. Such a great show, and so much fun to see it in person!

New TV in Action!

I am now starting to move into the townhouse that I will be staying in, yay! Last night, I was able to put together my new tv stand (a Black Friday purchase) and finally take the tv out of the box. As mentioned in a previous post, this is a 55" LED, LCD tv, so it is massive. The picture doesn't do it justice, but the color and quality is amazing! The Blu Ray movies look great, it is almost like you are there with the people on the tv. I cannot wait to watch the Clemson game this weekend on the High Def tv!

Stimulating the Economy

Here is part of our loot from our Black Friday shopping. We got some things from Target, Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, Kohl's, JC Penny, and Belk. Not seen in the picture, as I have to wait for a truck to bring it home, is a TV stand for my new tv (that is still in the box until I move into my new place) and a massaging recliner/rocking chair! No, it isn't one of the fancy ones from places like Brookstone or Sharper Image, but it is nice, all leather and comfy. I cannot wait to move into the new place (keep your fingers crossed that it will be available this weekend or next).

Black Friday at Target

We got here at just after 4 am for shopping deals this morning. The line is huge already this year, and the store doesn't open until 5! Last year, the line wasn't this long, and we only arrived about 30 minutes before the store opened.

My Nephews!

My mom and stepdad kept my nephews on Saturday night (while I was at the movies), and took these pictures of them. They are now about 7 1/2 months old now, and starting to look more and more alike. James is in the green sleeper and David is in the red sleeper.

New Moon

I went to go see New Moon tonight (the second installment of the Twilight Saga), and it was great. It was so much better than the first movie. It was also nice going out with friends for the night. The theater had this cute sign outside, and the ticket guy looked similar to 'Edward' and had his name tag that actually said 'Edward'! It was a fun night.

New phone

Here is a picture of my new phone, Verizon's Droid. So far I love this phone! It has GPS, internet, e-mail, and all sorts of fun things. I also love how it says 'Droid' in a robotic voice whenever I get a text message, so much fun.

Video From Carolina Opry

Here is a video from the Christmas show at The Carolina Opry. Here is an act where it was a 'one man band' singing "Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer." It is too funny! You really must go check out this show if you are in or near Myrtle Beach, it is so much fun!

Downtown Wilmington is already starting to get ready for the holidays. Here is a picture of the lights on the streets. We had a great time and great food at Reel Cafe!

The Carolina Opry Christmas Show

Since we are in Wrightsville Beach this weekend, we drove down the road to Myrtle Beach for the Carolina Opry's Christmas Show this afternoon. It started at 1 and wasn't over until 4, and it was a blast! It features a lot of things that I remember from the past, but also some new performances. Calvin Gilmore also made an appearance and sang some old favorite Christmas songs. It was a beautiful, fun, and exciting performance that we all really enjoyed.

New TV

Here is my new tv packed into the bed of a truck. It is a 55 inch LED, LCD tv with all kinds of bells and whistles. I am very excited to get this tv, but unfortunately, I'm not going to get to open it or get to play with it until I get settled into the new place. It is a huge box though!

Patriots Point

We are at Patriots Point today touring the Yorktown. It is hot today, and the weather is sunny and 85! The Yorktown is huge, and the view of the bridge is beautiful.

Happy Halloween from Charleston SC

Toby is wearing his Halloween bandana to celebrate. He is sad though as he just had to say goodbye to his great-grandma and grandpa. Toby loved getting his daily deli meat turkey from his great-grandma!

Carriage tour

We are taking a carriage tour with Palmetto Carriage Company. We did a tour of Zone 3, it was a lot of fun. Here are our two mules Laverne and Shirley!

Drayton Hall

This is another home of the Drayton family, who also owned the Magnolia Plantation. It is one of the few homes that survived the Civil War. Also, one of the oldest preservation homes in the country. This home is a preservation site, not restoration, which means they are preserving what is there. This also means that if something is missing, they cannot recreate it, they have done some repair work using what is in the house. Also, there is no furniture inside, this house is only for looking at the architecture and using your imagination.

Road to Charleston

Macy and Toby in the car as we drive to Charleston, they are so cute. Macy is very excited, as she usually does not get to go on trips. Toby is an old pro at traveling, and just settling in for the long ride. It should be a fun trip!

The Twins at 6 months

We went out to dinner with my step-sister, her husband, and their twin boys today. The twins were wearing their Halloween outfits, and looking very cute. Mom is holding James and Mike is holding David. They are starting to get so much more playful now, so it is exciting to see how much they change.

Last day at work

Gift from patient of duck decoys, he made them by hand and hand-painted them. Very sweet of him, and I know it required time...however, I'm not quite the duck hunter. I do believe that I have found them a good home, so I am happy about that.
My last day of work went well, and I will definitely miss my coworkers. I hope to keep in touch with them.

An old wedding reenactment!

While at the Tryon Palace, they had a reenactment of an 18th Century wedding. Most people couldn't afford a fancy church wedding, so they usually had a minister perform the ceremony over an anvil. This was a symbolic meaning to "forge" the marriage and the couple together forever. Kind of cool symbolism, and neat to watch this ceremony. The funny thing is, the couple getting fake married are actually engaged in real life getting married in January. They have now been fake married 4 times! LOL, they should be quite prepared for the real thing in January!
