New Job

On Thursday, I started my new job at Advanced Home Care. I will be in 'training' for a while, but once I gain my stripes and learn the system, I will be going out on my my own. Being a home health therapist means that I will go out to the patient's home and treat them in their own house. I should be treating patients at a higher level, as the patients that we discharge from the nursing home receive home health. Today, I did a ride along with a nurse, and it was a lot of fun. I am very excited to learn the ropes of home health!

New Furniture!

My furniture from Ashley Furniture was delivered today. It is very comfortable, and I think that it looks great. Toby isn't too sure about the motorized recliner feature, but he seems to like the softness. Such a nice way to relax after a day at work.

Toby Update

I just realized that I have not updated everyone on Toby's progress since he was in his little cast. He did finally get his cast removed, and the vet seems to think that he will be okay. Unfortunately, he was around the sick dogs too much, and he ended up with Kennel Cough. Kennel Cough is the doggy version of bronchitis, and his got pretty bad and developed into borderline pneumonia. It was back to the vet, and he was put on antibiotics and an antihistamine/steroid mix. He has been weaning off the steroid, and his last pill was today. He is not coughing and sneezing as much, but he is still not 100% yet. Hopefully, he will be back to his fully entertaining self very soon.

New Reebok Simplytone

These new 'muscle toning' shoes are everywhere now, with every company having their own style. My favorite have been the Reebok brand, as they look like normal shoes, and they are very bouncy. I have worn them two days so far, and I have enjoyed the extra spring in my step. Plus, I like how they look.

Scentsy Plug-in

A former co-worker from Fayetteville, NC had a Scentsy party. As I was not able to attend the actual party, I ordered from the online site. I had never heard of or used this product, but I figured it would be a good way see how it works (and help a former co-worker). They have numerous options, but I chose the smaller plug in unit. It uses a 15 watt light-bulb and heats up the scented wax to spread a fragrant smell. I bought a package deal that came with the plug-in unit and 3 scents of wax of my choice. There were so many choices, but I decided on Cupcake, Cranberry Mango, and Plumeria Passion. My package arrived today, and I immediately opened the box to try it out. I tried the Cranberry Mango first, and it smells amazing! I cannot wait to use this more and try the other scents.

Egret Flower

I ordered this seed/bulb in the Spring, and it has finally bloomed. Look how pretty and delicate it is! It actually looks like the Egret bird in flight. I hope that it spreads and that more come up next year. I am really loving this gardening thing!

New Sofa and Loveseat!

I decided that I wanted to update my living room furniture, so I went shopping today. I found my new set at Ashley Furniture, and I am so excited. It is sage colored with a motorized recliner on each side, meaning that you can stop it wherever you want to. It is such a comfy sofa, and I cannot wait until it is delivered next Thursday!

Saturday Flowers

I decided to share more pictures of my pretty flowers since this has been a pretty lazy Saturday. I wish we would get some more rain because I know that my flowers would appreciate some rain water instead of from the garden hose. Look how pretty the orange Dahlia is now that it has bloomed completely. I have some Cannas that are coming up now, I cannot wait to see how they look.

Second Dahlia

My other Dahlia finally decided to bloom. Look how pretty it is! My other flowers are still doing pretty good, but this heat and lack of rain hasn't been easy. Lots of watering everyday.
