Driving Ms Daisy

My brother and I were heading over to visit my mom this weekend, and before putting the car in gear, Toby thought he would take the car for a spin. It was too cute, so I had to get my brother to take a picture. Of course, I must put in this disclaimer, no, Toby did not actually drive my car, and the car was still in park at the time of taking the picture.

Yummy Breakfast

I decided to try a new recipe this morning for breakfast since my brother is staying with me. You take a Grand's Cinnamon Roll cut in half. The filling is a cream cheese, whipped cream, with cut strawberries placed in between the cut cinnamon roll. Then, mix chocolate syrup with the icing cup, and drizzle on top with some sliced strawberries. It was very tasty!

Updated flowers

Here is a current picture of everything blooming! The Rhododendrons are blooming (near the garden hose), and the pink Hyacinths look gorgeous (left side). I cannot wait until the new things start to come up and grow!

Welcome Spring 2010!

On this first day of Spring, I opened up my back door today so that Toby could enjoy the sunshine and watch the birds on the lake. Toby has changed his sitting spot a few times. First, he sat on the top of the couch in the sun and most recently he has brought some toys over and is sitting by the door. When the geese came out of the water and started to walk towards our door, he started barking at them to go back to the water. He is just too funny!

Front flowerbed

Here is an updated picture of my front flowerbed. Look, I have a daffodil that has bloomed! The small bush that is growing in front of the hose and to the left of the Forsythia are Rhododendrons. The Rhododendrons and Gardenias (not in the picture, on the other side of the walkway) were both planted a couple of weeks ago. While they still look small, they have grown quite a bit since they were planted, and will end up being around 3 feet tall. My pansies still look happy and colorful, they have been blooming since I first planted them nearly a month ago.

Such fun watching these things grow and bloom.

Toby the Cheese Thief

Toby found the package that the cheese from the Velteeta mac and cheese came in. He grabbed the package, ran to hide, then proceeded to lick the extra cheese sauce out. Too funny!

Window Plants

Here are the plants that I am growing indoors. From left to right: An Orchid, a Begonia, another orchid, a Miniature Rose. So far, they are doing great. I cannot wait to see how the orchids turn out, and the Begonia has little sprigs growing out because it is doing so well. The rose was at work, but it almost died, so I rescued it and brought it home (look at it doing so well). So pretty! Toby loves to hop up on the window seat and smell the flowers.

Blueberry Bushes

The blueberry bushes that I ordered have finally arrived. The stickers says that these plants are in a dormant stage, and need to be planted quickly for best results. From everything that I read online, it will take 2-3 years for these plants to actually bear fruit, so I will have to be patient. Time to get planting!

It's snowing

The snow began falling just before lunch today. It has been so beautiful watching the snow all day. The patients have been by the windows looking out most of the day. Hopefully, we won't get massive amounts of snow to stay around forever this time!
