I am spending the day in the 300 year old town of Beaufort, NC (pronounced Bo-furt for all of the SC people who follow my blog and are used to the Bu-fort that we have in SC). This is the 3rd oldest town in NC, and was settled in 1709 (20 years before Washington was born), and this year is celebrating their tricentennial!
